Research Integrity
• Set and promulgate research policy and PI eligibility
• Review requests for principal investigator-ship (PI-ship) waivers
• Manage CRO Training for SLAC Researchers and PIs
Participation in SLAC Committees
• Chair the SLAC Science Council
• Contribute to SLAC’s The Activity Review Committee (TARC)
• Partner with SLAC’s Proposal Advancement Office (PAO)
Career Path Development
• Govern scientists and engineers’ appointment and promotion
• Oversee the Panofsky Fellowship hiring process
• Provide development training for early career researchers
Interface with Stanford & Private Entities
• Partner with Stanford's Dean of Research Office
Internal Selection Process
• Manage the SLAC pre-proposal internal-select process
• Manage SLAC ECA pre-proposal internal-select process
• Coordinate large multi-team/center proposals
• Manage the nomination process for honors and awards
• Prioritize SLAC's participation in large conferences
Representing SLAC Interests
• Represent SLAC at National Laboratory CRO (NLCRO)
• Represent SLAC's interests in legislative and regulatory activities
• Organize and coordinate events across the DOE complex
• Coordinate researcher competitions such as SLAMs and BARS
